Please read carefully. Luna is an extremely gentle and loving girl.

She is a cream Shiba Inu female, already spayed and fully potty trained. She is shy, easily spooked, and will need a little time to adjust to a new environment, but once she settles in she is a happy girl who loves affection, cuddling, and being close to her people.

She knows sit, walks well on a leash, and loves to play fetch. She has also been non-reactive when leashed in our care and has done well on side-by-side walks with several different dogs.

Temperament and Daily Life

Luna is playful, affectionate, and loves to cuddle. She has been doing just fine kept free in our office. She does not sleep in a crate, does not chew up our things, and while she does get on furniture, that is expected and allowed here.

She is also easily spooked, which means she will need a home that understands she may need patience, time, and a soft landing while she builds confidence. Because of that, she is absolutely a flight risk and would need to be properly leashed or securely contained at all times.

GPS Requirement

All Shiba Saviors adoptions require active GPS tracking. Adopters receive a free FI Mini device and six months of service. The adopter pays a $20 activation fee. Continued subscription is required under our adoption agreement.

Car Rides and New Places

Luna is not the kind of dog we would describe as a take-her-everywhere companion. She does not like car rides. She tolerates them and does not panic, but she shakes and is clearly nervous and uneasy. She is also wary of exploring new places and does not yet have the kind of confidence needed for a constant go-everywhere lifestyle.

With Other Dogs and Animals

Luna has walked well side by side with several different dogs and tends to become overly playful with puppies. We have not heard her growl or seen her posture when walking past dogs in crates, even when those dogs were mouthy or posturing toward her.

Because she is such a gentle soul, she may not be the best fit for a home with a boisterous, aggressive, or overpowering dog. She would likely shut down, which can be a typical softer Shiba trait. Luna could do well in a home with another dog of similar temperament, or perhaps a younger dog, assuming they get along. That said, while we think she may do okay with other animals, she would absolutely thrive as an only animal, where she can be your one and only best friend and snuggle buddy.

The Home She Deserves

Luna deserves a forever best friend who understands her gentle nature and will help her feel safe. She is loving, cuddly, and sweet, and letting her go will be hard because we love her very much. But this is how rescue works, and Luna deserves her forever best friend.

Interested in Luna?

You are welcome to submit an application if you think Luna may eventually be a fit for your home.

The application is not a commitment. It simply helps us know who is seriously interested and where to focus our time once she is ready for consideration.

Please Note

Because Luna is still decompressing, any early impressions should be treated as preliminary. We would rather be honest and careful than rush her profile before we truly know what kind of home will fit her best.

A deeper write-up may be added later.
